Privacy policy
Abstract Web Studio is a website design and SEO studio run by Chris Leary, doing business as Abstract Web Studio ("Abstract", "I", "me"). This policy explains what I collect through abstractwebstudio.com, why, who helps me handle it, and your choices. Questions: chris@abstractwebstudio.com.
What I collect
What you send me. When you fill in a form, book a call, buy a plan or email me, I receive what you enter: your name, business name, email, phone number, current website, the services you need, your timeline and your message.
Payments. Checkout and invoices run on Stripe. I see the payment record (name, email, amount, date, plan), never your full card number.
What your browser sends. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which keeps short technical logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) to deliver the site and block attacks. I count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies. Forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to stop spam.
Business research. For outreach I may note publicly listed business details (business name, website, public phone or email, location) from sources like OpenStreetMap or a business's own site. I don't buy contact lists.
How I use it
- To answer your inquiry, send proposals, schedule calls and deliver the work you buy.
- To send invoices and keep the records tax law requires.
- To send occasional emails about my services if you're a client, asked to hear from me, or are a business I've contacted about its website. Every marketing email has an opt-out, honoured within 10 business days.
- To send text messages only if you opted in on a form. Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Mobile opt-in data is never shared with third parties for their marketing.
- To keep the site secure and understand which pages are useful.
I don't sell your information and I don't share it for anyone else's advertising.
Who helps me run this
- Cloudflare: hosting, security, spam protection, visit counts.
- Abstract CRM: my own customer system, hosted on Railway, where leads, clients and notes are stored.
- Resend: sends form confirmations and emails.
- Stripe: payments.
- My email provider, for day-to-day email.
- Twilio, only if I text you after you opted in.
They handle your information only to provide their service to me. Some store data in the United States or other countries. If a project needs work by a partner (for example an online store or a large build), I'll tell you first and pass on only what that work needs. I may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect my rights or someone's safety, or if the business is transferred to a new owner who follows this policy.
How long I keep it
Inquiries that don't become projects are deleted or anonymised within 24 months. Client and payment records are kept as long as tax rules require, usually seven years.
Your choices and rights
You can ask me to see, correct or delete your information, or to stop contacting you. Email chris@abstractwebstudio.com and I'll reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU or UK, or the Philippines), you may have more rights, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Children
This site isn't aimed at children under 16, and I don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If I change this policy I'll update the date at the top.
