Client service agreement

Last updated October 26, 2026

This agreement is between Chris Leary, doing business as Abstract Web Studio ("Abstract"), and the client named in the proposal or checkout ("you"). It applies to every plan and add-on unless the proposal says otherwise. The proposal (plan, price, pages, dates) is part of this agreement.

1. The work

Abstract builds the website described in your plan: Launch, Growth or Signature, with the pages, SEO work and revision rounds the plan lists. Anything not listed is extra and is quoted before it starts. Extra pages are $250 each unless the proposal says otherwise.

2. What you provide

Your business details, logo, photos, copy notes and logins (domain, Google Business Profile) within 10 business days of each request. The schedule moves by any delay on your side. If the project is paused for more than 60 days waiting on you, Abstract can close it and invoice the work done.

You confirm you have the right to everything you send (photos, logos, text, reviews), and that it doesn't break anyone else's rights.

3. Price and payment

4. Revisions and approval

Each plan includes the revision rounds it lists. A round is one consolidated list of changes. Approval in writing (email or a message in the project chat) moves the project to the next stage. Changes after approval, or a new direction, are quoted.

5. Launch and support

Every build includes 30 days of support after launch for fixes to anything that doesn't work as agreed. After that, changes are covered by Care or quoted.

6. Ownership

7. Results

Abstract does the SEO work the plan lists using current best practice. Rankings, traffic, calls and sales depend on search engines, competitors and your business, so no specific result is promised.

8. Confidentiality

Both sides keep the other's non-public information (logins, pricing, customer data) private and use it only for this project.

9. Liability

Abstract will do the work with reasonable care. Abstract's total liability under this agreement is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Neither side is liable for lost profits or indirect losses.

10. Ending the agreement

Either side can end this agreement in writing if the other seriously breaks it and doesn't fix it within 15 days of notice. You pay for work done up to that point. Deposits cover work already started and aren't refundable once design work begins.

11. Law and disputes

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA. Both sides will try to settle any dispute by talking first, then by mediation, before going to court.

12. Whole agreement

This agreement and your proposal are the whole deal. Changes must be in writing. Accepting at checkout, signing, or paying the deposit means you agree to it.
